Greetings!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I know I feel especially blessed this year and am so excited for the new year!  It’s been a bit hectic in my house and studio and before the time gets away from me again I want to share this beautiful session I did a couple of months ago.  Lauren & Andrew’s wedding is next fall and I’m so excited for it!

Enjoy!

Amanda & Steve were married at the beautiful Spring Lake Winery in Lockport, NY on a gorgeous day filled with blue skies.  The light was beautiful and these two were so sweet with each other as we walked around the vineyard.  Surrounded by their friends and family overlooking a beautiful pond they said “I do” and I think Amanda’s reaction when the ceremony was finished sums up the whole day – fun!

Stay tuned for Part 2 of Amanda & Steve’s gorgeous wedding!

I had so much fun with these two on their engagement session, I couldn’t wait for their big day to come!  Cynthia & Jeff’s wedding was a true reflection of their sweet personalities and the toasts at the reception were so loaded with great relationship details.   Love that!  Like peanut butter and jelly, this country music loving girl  and her heavy metal loving guy make the perfect tune.  Thank you both for choosing me.   Love and blessings to you!

XO Tressa

I don’t remember exactly how long ago I met Monica, a lovely woman (with the cutest hats) who I saw walking her dogs almost daily.  After several of the “hi”, “good morning” interactions, one day she stopped and we chatted.  And since then, as cliche as it is – is history.   We started walking together, going for coffee and just generally creating a friendship filled with secrets, worries, hopes, blessings and adventures.  One of those adventures we talked about often was Monica and her husband James’ adventure for 11 years to have a child.   James is a super sweet man who just adores Monica – who could blame him!  And that is one of the first things you notice about them, their devotion to each other.  How sweet it is to be loved!  I could go on and on about the beautiful attributes of my dear friend but that is not all this blog post is about.  I’ll never forget the day Monica told me she was pregnant, joy can’t quite describe it!  I’ll never fully understand what it meant to you but I can only imagine!  Even though I haven’t been there all 11 years while you two were on this journey , you’ve both taught me so much with your patience, perseverance, faith and hope.  I feel so honored I was on the list you texted while you were in the hospital and was overwhelmed to be able to visit the hospital to officially meet Luke.  (Even though I had been feeling him squirm in your tummy for months!)  Luke is such a blessed gift and you my friend are a blessed gift to me!  Thank you for allowing me to come photograph your son and for allowing me to be a part of your lives.  He is so cute it hurts!!  Let this next adventure begin!

Lots of love,

Tressa

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and to all the mamas out there, I hope you had a blessed Mother’s Day!

Now…back to Emily & Peder!  When I pulled up to Emily’s house, her beautiful smiling face came out to greet me and I instantly felt welcomed.  She just has one of those smiles!  I had an incredible time photographing Emily and her beautiful family at their home and after the lovely ceremony and the “I do’s” we headed to Niagara Falls to photograph to our hearts content.   And we sure did!  The love your families showered you with is such a testament to how special you both are and how perfect you are for each other. Emily & Peder your day was filled with sunshine and rainbows and I felt so blessed to be involved.  Congratulations to you both and I wish you all the happiness in the world, especially on your newest adventure!

Even after 12 years of photographing weddings I still get butterflies on my way to each one., this year was no exception.  The weather last Saturday was nothing short of amazing and I hope it’s only the beginning of what I know will be an amazing year filled.  Here is a peek at my very first wedding of 2011, lots more on these cuties in a couple of days!

Revisiting Memories

The first time I spoke with Amanda & Steve was over the phone as we sat almost 400 miles apart.  They were tackling the fun challenge of planning their wedding from a distance to come back and celebrate with their families where it all began years before.   When the time came to discuss locations for their engagement session, Steve immediately spoke up and suggested a dam he used to visit through the years on fishing adventures.   The day arrived and as we explored, stopping here and there to photograph it was so fun listening to Steve talk about old memories.   Stopping to describe how this or that had changed in the landscape.  It was also Amanda’s first visit to the dam and I was honored to not only capture photos of these two but also watch as old memories collided to create a new one.  Amanda & Steve thank you for inviting me into your lives, I can’t wait for your wedding in July!

A big thank you to Encore Signature Events for inviting the local wedding professionals for a night of fun at the Radisson Hotel!  Good music, a hoppin photo booth, yummy snacks and great friends = a super fun Thursday night!  I had intended on just stopping in to photograph a few table designs but then I heard Vanilla Ice’s  ”Ice, Ice, Baby” tune and just had to stay.  Seriously, when was the last time you heard that song!  If you’re hoping I’m going to post images from us busting a move, sorry to disappoint!  Instead here are some much prettier images of the table designs that Lisa Murley, Joana Alberti & Lisa Meyer created.

A little longer break in between than I had anticipated, sorry for that one!  Thank goodness Rochester has some lovely options to photograph inside on those not-so-good weather days.   The big day is just one month away and I’m so excited to to be involved!
